Institute of Asian Culture is an entity of the Multicultural Center of the South which is a non-profit organization. The Institute is related in international education in administrative and financial independence.
Mae X. Gao is the Executive Director of the Institute of Asian Culture. She is an Associate Professor of Museology with over 20 years of experience in the fields of education and museum. In Atlanta, GA, Mae served as a certified language evaluator/instructor at Inlingua Southeast Language Associates and Alta Language Services. She was also the manager of the Asian Culture Program (WATB1420 AM Atlanta) for Multicultural Broadcasting Inc.
The Institute strives to develop global outreach and build a working relationship with museums, schools and other related organizations through tourism, the exchange of students, scholars and other learning programs between Asian countries and the southern United States.
The Institute offers classes of standard Chinese language including a six weeks short term class, and musical instrument –Erhu. All classes are available to children age 6 through adults.
